Start with a camera or an image you already have.
Pick a source, watch the live preview, and grab a frame when the part is in focus. Cameras work through Media Foundation and DirectShow, so hardware that isn't UVC-only still shows up. Or skip the camera and import a PNG, JPEG, TIFF, or BMP.
Calibrate once for each optical setup.
Measure something in frame whose size you already know, enter the real value, and name the profile. It belongs to that one magnification, focal distance, and camera — keep the setup and it loads every session after. Change the optics and you calibrate once more.

Results update as you draw. Each measurement keeps its own unit and decimal precision, so a µm feature and an mm feature can share one image.
Everything ends up in one image.
Add arrows, freehand marks, and text boxes, then export as PNG, JPEG, TIFF, or BMP with the measurements baked in. A scale bar, watermark, and timestamp strip are there if you want them. Not finished yet? Save it as a .pxst project and pick it back up later.
Ball crater measurement is built in.
Coating thickness comes straight from the crater geometry, single layer or multilayer. Each layer gets its own label, and you can reselect a crater later to change the layer count without redrawing it.

Most measurement tools are tied to a specific camera or a proprietary system. Pixosight goes through the capture interfaces Windows already provides — if Windows can see the camera, Pixosight can use it.

USB cameras, webcams, microscope cameras, and capture devices that need DirectShow rather than UVC. Pixosight takes whatever Windows is already showing it, so there's nothing camera-specific to configure on our side.
